Thankful Thursday

Ever have those days that you just need to remember what you have to be thankful - yep it is one of those days, actually it has been one of those weeks. So here goes... I am thankful for...

... friends.

... a husband that helps around the house and with the kids.

... a house to live in.

... 2 working cars.

... a church to serve in.

... 3 wonderful kids.

... baby laughs - you can not help but smile when you hear them.

... hot water - and a working hot water heater (it broke at some point yesterday and is now working again).

... coffee and Dr. Pepper.

... family.

... God my provider.

Thankful Thursday - Veterans Day

Today I am thankful for...

...Veterans, that have sacrificed for my freedom.

... man and women that sacrifice today for my freedom.

... families that have and are sacrificing for my freedom.

... a day to remember what they have done and what they do.

... the country that I live in.

... a God that is in control of all.

... grace, and the fact that if it was an ocean we would all be drowning in it.

Thankful Thursday - Yes it is still Thursday

You will have to excuse the lateness of my post. I was having fun helping a friend paint her bedroom before they get new carpet - and yes it was fun I am not just saying that, exhausting but fun.

So today I am thankful for...

...friends that trust me to help them paint there house. 

... a gigantic pile of laundry that keeps growing and growing.

... a counter full of dirty dishes that I can not seem to keep cleaned off.

... a husband that does not freakout when he comes home and I have rearranged and reorganized the house.

... a husband that will stay late at work even though he does not want to but it needs to get done, and that he knows there is a boundary between working extra occasionally and being a work-a-holic.

... a husband that loves me for me not for what I accomplish during that week.

... chocolate milk.

... coffee and fanciness to put in me coffee.

... Diet Dr. Pepper.

... homeschooling.

... for 3 awesome kids.

Today I am thankful for....

1. Updates in Blogger (they are fun to play with).
2. Rain.
3. Fall.
4. Homeschooling and the ways that God is challenging me and using my gifts and talents in it.
5. Opportunities to grow.
6. Opportunities to teach my children.
7. Camping and some family time over the weekend.
8. An awesome husband and ran me a bubble bath on Monday and let me just relax.
9. Children.
10. Time to talk with my little brother. He is an amazing man of God and encouraging to talk to.

Thankful Thursday

It is Thankful Thursday and I have internet to actually write a post. Speaking of no internet that is what I am thankful for. We did not have internet for a few weeks and while it was challenging at the same time it should me how much time I actually spend just vegging out on the computer. I num myself by just sitting and staring. So I am thankful for the chance to see were I choose to num myself and not deal with life. I want to deal with and experience everything God has for me each day. I am thankful for a chance to do that today.

...a 3 week old little lady that is so easy going.

...a husband that is not just a bystander in life he lives it with me - he is truly a partner not a roommate.

...my sister that I miss right now - but get to see in 3 weeks.

...my brothers surgery going well, and the doctors being hopeful that he will recover quickly.

This week I want to dedicate my Thankful Thursday to a special 3 year old little boy. Benen turned 3 on Monday and I am so very thankful for him and the 3 years that we have had him

... for his smile.

... for sense of humor.

... that he can be all boy, but he also has a very sensitive side.

... that he loves to snuggle - "warm me up" as he calls it.

... that he loves being with his big sister.

... that he has really good eye hand coordination.

... that he will keep an eye out for kids younger than him.

... that a balloon can entertain him for hours.

... a husband that is willing to come home and do house work all evening.

... not being on bed rest (with both Anna and Benen I was on bed rest at this point).

... a mom and sister that bought me an early birthday present of clothes (nursing and maternity) now I actually have things that fit :)

... friendships that stay even though there maybe miles between us.

... God allowing good-byes to not be forever.

... my friend Jinny and the new adventure she is going on next week.

Today I am thankful for...

...this little man and his smile and laugh.

... this lady, my sister, that is living for 8 weeks to go purse and life long God sized dream. I am going to miss her, but so encouraged to see her do what God wants.

... this man and love of my life. He is also ways involved and he is very caring and gentle.

... this very independent big girl, that has a love for life, people, and a curiosity about everything.

...the heritage that my grandparents left me with... they were married over 50 years and raised 4 kids.

Today I am thankful for God and the way He works. In my life, my families lives, and my friends lives. He knows exactly what we need both physically and spiritually and is always there to provide it; in ways that we could never have imagined. Thank you Lord for all you do.

This week I have been reminded how blessed I

am to have 2 health kids, and 1 healthy almost full term little girl on the way. I am also so blessed to have a health husband, and a relationship to go with it. So that it what I am thankful for today, I am also thankful for the reminder of what a blessing my family is. I am also thankful for the reminder that God has a plan for each and every life and that He knows the hairs on our head and only He counts are days - I am thankful that I have gotten to spend the days I have with this little familia.

"Thank you Lord for bringing every single one of them into my life, I am even thankful for the challenges and the hard times. Please forgive me for the times I take them for granted. Thank you that have a plan for each one of us and that the plan involves us being a family."

Thankful Thursday on Friday

(Let me tell you that grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and City Market can really take it out of this prego. I am convenced it was mostly Wal-Mart) So what I am thankful for this week...

... conversations with the hubby (Matt) - they are the best.

... a little princess (Anna) that has people in her life that love to spoil her and treat her special.

... a little super hero (Benen) that wants to help all the time and loves being with his sister.

... that in 10 (or less) very short weeks I get to meet this little girl growing inside me.

... for FLYlady - my house has been clean and the laundry caught up for 2 weeks now and it is not overwhelming me.

... a group of ladies to go listen to Beth Moore with tomorrow.

... the creative youth group that decided to do a family fundraiser tonight and celebrate 50's style.

... that my kids love to learn about Jesus and they get excited to go to riverKIDS on Sunday mornings.

... children worshipping - there is nothing like hearing kids sing Jesus Loves Me; especially when it is your kids singing it.

Thankful Thursday

"Do we worship God because of things or because of Who He Is?" - I was challenged by God with this question this week. Then God kicks my butt even farther this week and asks me: "Do you worship me because of things and circumstance or because of Who I Am?" Then I was also challenged with the thought of: "That question not only applies to worship but to my attitude and my gratitude. Honestly; I would have to say that my attitude, my gratitude, and my worship are all more related to my circumstances and things rather then Who God Is. I think the thing that makes the difference is my focus; am I focused on God or on everything else around me. So; I would like to share my Thankful Thursday for Who My God Is.
