Christmas 2014

Just when I think things are going to slow down around here, they don't.... So, the last time a posted was fall... now it's almost February.... So, what about our Christmas...

It snowed, I can't remember the last time we had a snowy Christmas, it was awesome and the kids loved it. I am thankful that Christmas day is also pretty mellow around here. We went to Papa and Gamma's for presents and to spend the day. Had shrimp and crab, yummy. Took naps, played games and just enjoyed family.

Thankful Thursday - Better Late than Never

Thankful Thursday; today I am thankful for...
... a husband that is willing to come home and do house work all evening.
... not being on bed rest (with both Anna and Benen I was on bed rest at this point).
... a mom and sister that bought me an early birthday present of clothes (nursing and maternity) now I actually have things that fit :)
... friendships that stay even though there maybe miles between us.
... God allowing good-byes to not be forever.
... my friend Jinny and the new adventure she is going on next week.
... a little man that turns 3 next week.
... a Connect Group to hang out with on Friday nights.
... Midwives.
... food.
... lemon slices and ice that make water taste on so good.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful to be a Cartwright Girl. Ever sense I was little when people would talk about my mom, sister, and I they would call us the Cartwright Girls - when people say it now I usually comment that I am no longer a Cartwright, but the truth is that I will always be a Cartwright Girl and I love that. I so thankful for the loving, challenging, and sportive relationship I have with my mom and sister; not a lot of people have the kind of relationships that we have even if they have a sister and and mom.

Thankful Thursday - My Mom (Grandma)

Today I am thankful for my mom...
1. That she prays for us everyday.
2. That she asks me challenging questions.
3. That she challenges me and my family to pursue God and His best.
4. That she would cook and clean with us when we were little.
5. That she loved us enough to discipline us.
6. That she was able and wanted to stay home when we were little (until I was in High School) - she sacrificed a lot to do that.
7. That she was always encouraging.
8. That she encourages and supports me as a mother now.
9. That she is a very beautiful women of God.
10. That she is still here and very close.
11. The legacy of still being married to my dad; and all the hard things they have made it throw.
12. Her yummy homemade food.

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my hero and mom's 53rd Birthday. It is funny because when people ask me how old she is I really usually do not know (I see here as my best friend so she really can not be that much older then me). But she is my mom so she is older then me.

So the question is why is my mom my hero; will really because she has spend everyday of my life living out in front of me the example of a Godly women. No she is not prefect and she makes mistakes (we all do); but she is willing to face and admit those miss ups and us them as growing experiences. She earnestly seeks God's face and tries to do what she fills He is calling her to do everyday; and for that she is my hero.

Thank you and Happy Birthday Mom.

Lord-
Please let me be an example of a Godly women to my children; and thank you for putting my mom in my life.
